Frequently asked questions
Answers about choosing a class, your student account, tuition and payments, preparing for class, and course completion.
Registration & online access
How do I register for a class?
Browse our courses, open a course, and choose a date in its calendar. Select Register now for that class to continue in the student portal. Sign in or create an account, review your details and requirements, and complete the payment steps. See the How to Apply video for a walkthrough.
Do I need a student account?
Yes. Registration and course access use the student portal. New students verify their email, set a password, and enter their student details and emergency contact. Use your full legal name for your course records. If you already have an account, sign in with that account.
How do I verify my email when creating an account?
Enter your email and select Send code. Enter the six-digit code from the email in the account form. Check your spam folder and confirm the address is correct if it does not arrive. If you still need help, contact [email protected].
What if I forgot my password?
Open the student portal and choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page. Follow the email reset instructions, then sign in again. If you cannot access your account email, contact [email protected].
Where can I find class dates and available seats?
Use the calendar on your course page or the Academic Calendar. Select a date to see its class details and Register now link. Calendar times are shown in Pacific Time. Confirm the complete schedule and availability in the student portal before paying.
Where do I find my course materials?
Sign in to the student portal, open Classes, and select your registered class. Available modules and files appear there. You can also choose View class from the payment confirmation. If your class or materials are missing, contact the office with your course and class date.
Tuition & payments
Where can I see tuition and discounts?
Course tiles and course pages show tuition when available. A discounted price appears in red beside a smaller, crossed-out original price. If the offer has an end date, it is displayed with its time zone. Review your final price in the portal; offers and availability are checked again at checkout.
Can I pay part of the tuition now?
Review the options offered at checkout. The portal supports full tuition payment or 50% of tuition now, with the remaining tuition due in person. Optional items are paid in full at checkout. Check the total, amount due now, and remaining balance before confirming your selection.
Does clicking Register now enroll or charge me?
No. Register now opens the signup page for the selected class. You still need to review and save your registration, choose a payment option, and submit payment. Check the payment confirmation for the class schedule, amount paid, and any remaining balance.
What if my payment is still processing or was declined?
If the portal is checking your payment status, wait for the result and do not submit another payment. Use Check again if available. If a payment is explicitly declined, review your card details or use another card. Contact [email protected] if the status remains unclear.
Before you come to class
How long is my course, and what must I complete online?
Check the current description and duration on your course page, then review the full schedule and preparation instructions in the student portal. Online and on-site hours vary by course. Follow your selected class schedule rather than assuming every session has the same hours.
What happens if I’m late?
Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your on-site class begins. If you are running late, call 650-417-8319 as soon as possible so the team can advise you about attendance and any missed requirements.
What should I wear to my on-site class?
Wear professional scrubs and closed-toe shoes for clinical training. Scrubs are required.
What should I bring, and do I need to study beforehand?
Bring a valid photo ID showing your name. Review your online lecture video and study materials before attending. If your course requires patients, arrange for them to attend and complete the correct consent forms.
Do I need to bring patients for a practical session?
Some clinical courses require student-arranged patients. Check your course instructions for the number of patients, eligibility, screening, and arrival times. Complete the appropriate patient consent forms and confirm any questions with the office before arranging attendance.
What happens if my patient is late?
Late patients may not be accepted because of class timing and, for Radiation Safety, safety restrictions. You are responsible for ensuring your patients arrive on time. Contact the team if a patient is delayed.
What if I can’t bring the required patients?
You may need to reschedule your practical session, and an additional fee may apply. Contact [email protected] before class to discuss your situation.
Where can I get the patient consent forms?
Visit Patient Forms and select the form for your course. Each patient must complete and sign the appropriate form before participating.
Learning, results & certificates
Where do I submit prerequisite documents?
Review the requirements on your course and class registration pages. Where uploads are offered, submit the requested documents through registration or the prerequisite section of Certificates in the student portal. An upload is not an approval: check its review status and follow staff instructions.
Where can I see my exam and practical results?
Open Results in the student portal. Written and practical assessments may remain pending until staff release the results. If a result is unavailable, check again later or ask your instructor about its status.
What if I do not pass an assessment?
Ask your instructor about the requirements and retake options for your course. Passing criteria, permitted attempts, scheduling, and any fees depend on the assessment and course rules. Confirm the next steps before booking another session or making another payment.
Where can I find my completion certificate?
Complete the required coursework and assessments for your course. Issued certificates and available downloads appear under Certificates in the student portal. If yours is not listed, contact the office to confirm completion and issuance status.
How can I check whether a course is approved by the Dental Board?
Check your course information and the Dental Board of California’s approved course directory (opens in a new tab) for the specific approval you need. Contact our team if you need help confirming a course’s status.
Rescheduling & cancellations
Can I reschedule my on-site class?
Email [email protected] as early as possible with your request. Notice requirements and fees are explained in our cancellation and rescheduling terms. Ask the office to confirm the available date and any fee before changing your plans.
Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
Refund eligibility depends on your payment and the timing of your cancellation. Review our cancellation terms and contact [email protected] so the office can confirm the amount, if any, that applies to your registration.
What happens if I miss class without giving notice?
Missing class without notice is treated as a no-show and may affect your payment and the cost of rescheduling. Contact the office to arrange next steps and review the attendance and cancellation terms.
How can I check the status of an approved refund?
Contact [email protected] with your class and registration details. The office can confirm whether the refund has been approved or processed and advise on the expected timing. Do not send payment-card details by email.
